The VALOR Study

This trial is evaluating an investigational therapy for SOD1-ALS. The goal of the clinical trial is to answer questions about the investigational therapy and how it affects people living with ALS.

Please note that potential trial participants must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have symptoms caused by ALS
  • Agree to genetic testing for the SOD1 mutation

If you are eligible and choose to participate, you will receive the following at no cost:

  • Comprehensive study-related health evaluations and assessments, including genetic testing
  • Investigational drug or placebo
  • All study-related visits and care

Travel Support

Because you may need to travel some distance to participate in this clinical trial, we may be supporting you with travel coordination and reimbursement. Depending on the distance to the clinical trial location, this may include air and / or ground transportation and hotel accommodations for the participant and a caregiver.

Neither you nor your insurance provider will be charged for the costs of any tests or procedures performed as part of the clinical trial.

It’s natural for you to have questions about participation, especially when a loved one whose well-being and care you are committed to is considering it. After filling out the online questionnaire, you and your caregiver will have the opportunity to talk to the clinical site study team and ask any questions you have so that you have all the information you need to make a decision.
